Email bill payments will become a reality this year with the launch of a new service from Google.
According to a leaked document from Re/code, Google will launch its Pony Express service in the fourth quarter of 2015 – allowing users to begin transferring funds to friends and family via email.
In order to use the service, users will reportedly have to hand over their names, addresses and other personal details to Google so that their bills can start being forwarded to their personal Gmail account. They can then link their bank details to Gmail, enabling them to start making direct payments by clicking send.
Google is yet to comment on the reports.
