Plugin

Plugin (also known as a plug-in) is a software that enables customization by adding a specific feature to the current computer program. Plugin`s primary goal is to enhance the program as well as to provide new capabilities. Those merchants willing to accept Shopify payments need a Shopify plugin. The same is true for WooCommerce and WordPress payments. 

How does the plugin work?

Once set up manually, the plugin works automatically. Usually, the setup process does not require any technical skills. 

How to install the plugin?

The majority of plugins are available as free downloads. To set up the plugin, you need the enter the plugin`s developer website. Then, you have to click on a link to download the installer for the plugin of your choice. Download a plugin to the familiar location such as the Desktop.  You can also use a specific folder. Once the installer is downloaded, you open it and follow the instructions to install the plugin on your system. Sometimes, you need to restart your web browser so to activate the plugin.

What is the difference between a plugin and extension?

Though alike, plugins and extensions have some key differences. Plugins work for one page to which they are embedded, while an extension covers the entire activity of the browser.
