Shortly QIWI can become an equivalent payment system for the Internet auction site eBay, along with PayPal. Russian payment company is in the final stages of negotiations with the American giant of e-commerce, as reported by Russian media sources.
However, Head of Russian branch of eBay Vladimir Dolgov did not confirm nor denied this information, as well as the press service of QIWI.
PayPal is a major payment tool for eBay. To make a purchase on the American online auction site, the user must connect his credit card to this payment system. In July 2002, eBay acquired PayPal for $1.5 billion. Since then some other payment systems became available on the internet auction, like ProPay, Paymate and Skrill. To date, only Skrill is available for customers from other countries, in particular, for Russian users.
