BitPay has launched its open source web and mobile Bitcoin wallet on Windows Phone.
The Copay app, which is already available on both Android and iOS, launched in summer 2014 and is still currently in beta. Copay’s transaction process multi-signature verification, VentureBeat reports, and was originally created to be used internally at BitPay.
The company decided to open up the code to create a foundation for other Bitcoin products and services.
BitPay launched its open source code and the Copay wallet simultaneously to demonstrate how the software works. The company released an NFC-reliant mobile app for the wallet soon after, which allows consumers to tap-to-pay at participating stores.
